Iron Man Animated Adventures 3

      So, how's everyone been? Long time no post, huh. Hope you're ready for a massive amount of these. Let's just get right into it.

Ep. 3: Secrets and Lies

     The episode opens with a mandarin underlings telling him about information about the Maggia. Yep, we talkin gang wars in this. Granted the mandarins not all that worried about the gang war in place, he's more worried about the magic rings, although I guess they're more ancient technology and not magic. The ninja-like underlings tell him that the only one that would know anything about it would be Howard Stark, Tony's late father, and he sends them away. He walks away from the throne upset and wonders aloud why his Rings not working when he is the last true Khan, which is apparently a thing with this guy. I forgot to mention that this was the thing that he and his step dad we're arguing about in the the first two episodes, how is step dad is not part of the Khan lineage but Gene is. If this is meaning that the heir to the Mandarin rings, which he says he is due to being the last Khan, goes to the descendant of Genghis Khan, I think Gene has way more competition then he believes he has. Aside from that, Gene takes off the ring to reveal himself and returns to his secret identity in his antiques shop, meeting Tony Stark. Play the intro.

     Tony reveals that Gene's stepfather was helping his father with research on the magic rings. They do have an actual name, the Makluan Rings, but I'm not typing that in every time the things are mentioned. Tony goes back to his lab where he is nearly attacked by the Iron Man suit, but it turns out it's just Rhody trying the remote control features, this comes back later. On their way to school, in a very public road, Rhodey and Tony loudly discuss their plans on how to take care of the Mandarin. After filling in Pepper about the situation, Gene comes in and shows to be their new classmate. Teen helps tell me what a single word in his problem and then walks away. Tony, Gene, and Pepper get kidnapped by people with robotic suits.

     The kidnappers reveal the reasoning behind it, specifically the gang war between the Maggia and the Tong. Tony sends the signal to Brody allowing him to get a good idea of where they are to use the remote control Iron Man suit to get to them to save them. One of the kidnappers then breaks the playing Tony used to send the signal. Tony and pepper trick the guards into letting them go to the bathroom, obviously as a ploy to fix the signal. Unfortunately, the kidnappers get the message to kill off Tony and Pepper. Gene nearly reveals himself to be the Mandarin, but the Iron Man suit smashes through the building. 

     The Iron Man suit then tackles Tony into a pile of boxes, allowing Tony to put it on. Meanwhile, Gene and pepper make for the exit. It's a cool fight scene, but I really can't say all that much about it other than that. Gene bashes a guard on the head with a metal pipe on their way out to protect Pepper.

     After nearly dying, Iron Man wins the fight and meet back up with Gene and Pepper. The final scene shows that Tony and Gene are planning on working together for more information about the rings, also showing that Gene had kidnapped the kidnappers and is clearly torturing them for informations about the Maggia. 

     This was a good episode. The stakes were high and it showed Tony's intelligence fairly well, Rhody had some good moments piloting the Iron Man suit, and it introduced Gene as both intimidating yet a possible ally for Tony in the future. It also introduced the Maggia, and showed that they have advanced technology for some reason. It honestly did a lot in terms of plot progression, introductions, and Justin good character moments.
